Hammered Metal Container with Round Handles
Before it held anything in your home, this container was a steel drum carrying oil through the streets of Port-au-Prince. Village artisans in Haiti's Croix-des-Bouquets cut, cleaned, hammered, and shaped it entirely by hand into something worth keeping — a small, sturdy container with round handles and a darkened steel patina that only gets better with time.
Use it as a planter, a catch-all, a candle holder, or simply as a sculptural object on a shelf. It works indoors and out.

The Story Behind the Art
In Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, artisans have turned the upcycling of steel oil drums into a celebrated craft tradition. Each drum is sourced, burned clean, flattened, and hand-hammered into shape — no two pieces are identical. The coloration comes naturally from the burning process, giving each container its own unique patina. This is sustainable craft at its most honest.
Due to the handmade and upcycled nature of this piece, minor variations in color, texture, and finish are natural and expected.
